Aurora is the Goddess of the Dawn, the personification of the first light of day. She was celebrated in many different ancient cultures. Aurora renews herself every morning and flies across the sky announcing the morning's arrival by leaving a trail of orange, red, and yellow light.
Aurora was cursed by Aphrodite to always be in love. Aurora made one tragic mistake in her life. Her love for the mortal Tithonus was so great she asked Zeus to make him immortal. Zeus agreed, but since Aurora had neglected to ask for his eternal youth, Tithonus ended up aging eternally.
